Vick…Dogs have suffered…
After Vick’s speech, a rep with the Humane Society went up to the podium to retrieve his microphone, and found the note left by Vick containing his talking points. What is interesting is he failed to mention the part on the bottom of the note where he says, “dogs have suffered”. What does the Humane Society do with such memorabilia? You guessed it, they auction it on ebay. I think it’s awesome to see the note because it’s like having an access pass to Michael Vick prior to his speech. You can understand his thought process.
All the reporters on ESPN where praising Vick by saying he spoke from the heart, he wasn’t reading, he was genuine, etc. Now we find out he fooled ESPN.
The Humane Society’s CEO Wayne Pacelle wrote on his blog:
“I heard about a woman putting all of her Vick football cards, chewed by her two dogs, on eBay. The collection of 22 cards sold for $7,400, and benefited local Missouri humane societies.”
So far the ebay auction is up to $600. We’ll see how much the note sells for.
