It’s official people! Kanye West takes home the number one spot. Kanye West’s “Graduation” widely outsold 50 Cent’s “Curtis” in first week sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan: 957,000 copies to 691,000 copies. Now the questions remains to be asked, WILL 50 CENT RETIRE? I think he should stick to his word…
So what can 50 Cent really say at this point except this bubble down comment: “I am very excited to have participated in one of the biggest album release weeks in the last two years. Collectively, we have sold hundreds of thousands of units in our debut week. This marks a great moment for hip-hop music, one that will go down in history.” Come on Fiddy, you lost because you got too cocky (yes, cockier than Kanye) but now you know that Kanye sold almost 300K units more than you because YOU (Mr. G Unit) helped fuel a war that you thought you were going to win. Sorry for ya. I can’t wait to hear you on the mix tape circuit.
